Think you’ve got what it takes to be a Travel Guidebook Writer?

We’re looking for people who are research oriented writers looking to publish a guidebook with the backing of our wonderful adventure travel magazine.

Potential writers should be extremely capable wordsmiths, but also very detailed researchers.  We’re looking for people who can focus on independent and adventure travel, and those who actually walk-the-walk when it comes to travel.  You don’t need to travel the world, you just need to be the type of person who is always willing to explore.

What kind of Travel Guidebooks are we Looking for?

Honestly, we’re looking to publish a whole stream of exciting travel content.  First and foremost, we’re looking for city guides.  We want people to focus on a particular location and develop a guide on things to do, where to stay, places to eat, and where to party.  We also want some coverage of the historical, social, and cultural aspects of the destination.  These guides will be meant to show visitors how to scratch below the surface of a destination.  Now, although we’ll accept proposals for country guidebooks, we really want to focus on city guides to begin.

We’re also looking for activity-specific guides.  We would love people to write books on things like “A Guideto Hitchhiking Across America” or “A Guide to Travel Photography in New York City” or “A Guide to Hiking in Patagonia”.  If you think you can develop one of these types of books, we really want to read your proposals.
